24th of July Park City Trip

For the 24th of July, we visited Park City. Our fun trip consisted of a visit to Main Street Pizza & Noodle, walk through Park City resort, visiting the Olympic Park, riding a ski lift, going down the Alpine Slide, going down the zip line, and watching a youth ski jumping competition (yes, it was summer, and no, there was no snow for the ski jumpers). 4th of July Fun

We had a fun 4th of July at Grandma and Grandpa Lewis'.

House updates and our orphanage

We call it the orphanage. The mattresses are wall- to- wall. We even had an extra for the picture, cousin megan. They go to sleep every night listening to the Annie soundtrack.

Memorial Day and the house progress

For memorial day we went to Thanksgiving Gardens. We'd never been there before and it was quite impressive. The Koi fish were our favorite.

Jeremie had fun blowing in insulation. That's definitely a job to hire someone to do.

The house is coming. They actually now have the basement framed but I haven't gone out to take pictures. This week should be very eventful with the roof going up

More addition

I hope no one gets bored of all this but I am mostly doing it for the benefit of my family who wants to see what's going on.
Teya is going a little crazy from all of the dust. She always has a silly face to pull.

They poured the footings on Tuesday. The basement is coming out 16.5 feet and the upper floor comes out that much with a couple places coming out to 18. We should have a place for everything now and room to move.

They did the foundation today. These guys are really fast. They started this morning and poured this afternoon.

Kyle and Tadd had fun watching the guys pour the concrete. We do a lot of watching out windows these days.

It's done. Our house draws quite the reaction right now.

Addition pictures

Here are the latest pictures of the addition. They have been working like crazy. In one week they have removed the chimney, brick, siding, and excavated. So far no catastrophes.

After two years of planning we finally started our addition. So if you want to follow along with the chaos, feel free. They start excavating on Tuesday.

Just a few pictures

Tadd is not fun to take to basketball games. Several times mom, while coaching, had to run out on the court and rescue him before he was trampeled to death. Cara is a great b-ball player. She always loves to guard the toughest player.

Is January over yet?

Saturday, Jan. 24, slapped the Snowder family aside the head, but all is well.
The day began with Jeremie getting up early to play basketball, a regular weekly ritual. However, the chest pain that he experienced after playing basketball the prior Sat. and Tues. returned a third time. Convinced that he can't live with heartburn every time he pulls down a rebound, he went off to a medical clinic to seek some quality antacid since the Tums he took that morning obviously didn't work. The EKG results at the clinic lead the doctor to call 911 and have an ambulance sent to take him to a hospital. He gave his cell phone to the nurse to call his wife, who was coaching Cara's basketball team, and she met him at St. Mark's Hospital. He had a heart attack with blockage in the Left Anterior Descending artery. All was under control again after an angiogram was completed and a stint placed in the artery. (By the way, Cara's BB team won)

That evening, when the Lewis' came to watch the kids, they took Tadd to a clinic to get some antibiotics for an ear infection he had. The clinic had other ideas and would not release Tadd because his blood oxygen count was low. An ambulance (and Sarah) were called to rush Tadd to Primary Children's Medical Center. He was diagnosed with RSV and spent the night at the hospital in the arms of his grandpa.

Sarah, not to be outdone by Jeremie and Tadd, made her own visit to the emergency room Sunday morning for treatment of an anxiety attack with her heart racing.

We are all home now and all is well. Sarah is calm. Tadd is active again. Jeremie is taking it easy. No basketball for ?6 months? The BBall he played was a good thing to catch the heart problem early. A worse case would have been for the blockage to go unnoticed in a calm heart until major damage was inflicted. The prognosis looks good. Not much of the heart was damaged, and we pray that full, or nearly full recovery will come.

We are blessed to be together again and have felt the love of family and friends through last week's experience. We heard that we have been in several people's prayers, and are grateful for your thoughts. As for why our family had such an eventful weekend, not much physical reason can explain it. Further discussion is required for other reasons why we had such a great journal entry weekend.
